AAAAhhhh, I don't have broadband!!! Get me out of here fast.

Driving toward Niagra Falls. Apparently the short way to Lansing includes zooming through Canada.

Sunset and we're still driving.
We stay at Jenny's grandmother's for 2 nights then head out to a camp ground near Michigan's northern shore.

The gang at lunch.

The other side of the gang at lunch.

Jon receives his birthday gift from Jenny. Jon is heading out west on
walkabout instead of going to his highschool prom.

Heading to beach. I love the way they hide things in Michigan.

The water is COLD! okay, so I got used to it slowly but it started chilly.

The engaged go for a walk on the beach. Frisbee continues.
We head back to the campground after dark. I got sand everywhere.
So June 29, 2002 finds us at the camp ground getting ready for a wedding.

Nancy wore sneakers to her wedding? Yup, and it was a good thing too.

Wedding present before the wedding? Yup, didn't want to carry it.

Most of the gang watches.
left to right:Kevin, Nancy, May? (roommate to Jessie), Jessie (Nancy's oldest),Dave (Jamie's boyfriend), Jamie (Nancy's youngest), Jodi (Nancy's middlest), Dan(Jodi's boyfriend behind Bobby), Bobby (Kevin's 3rd kid)

The wedding was to take place at the end of the Bayview Trail.

Kevin and Nancy lead us up to their chosen site.
Notice how easy it is to walk a 1/2 mile through the woods in sneakers. Go Nancy!
(It's such a nice scene I couldn't bear to make it download faster)

Listening to one of the readings.
I was stealth camera-man, they didn't want us
going camera nuts when they were pledging their lives to each other. So I didn't
get many good shots. That's the minister on the right.

Kevin takes Nancy

Nancy takes Kevin

Nobody saw Nancy cry. Well we wouldn't admit it if we did.

Here's the whole gang
left to right: Dave and Jodi, Jamie and Dan, Jessie, May, Nancy, Kevin, Bobby, Jenny and Tom (ME!), Jon
Special thanks to the minister for taking this picture with a million different cameras

This is the hill that was behind Nancy and Kevin during their wedding.

How does one serve champaign out to 13 people in the middle of a park? Plastic glasses.
Nancy and the minister put them together for us.

Jenny, Jessie and the minister decide to sit down and marry Kevin Beard to Nancy
Morelli. Apparently Michigan doesn't required the newly wed to sign their marriage
certificate. So don't anger any ministers in Michigan.

Some of the wild flowers in the park.
Here's a closeup of the flowers.

The back-up supply of daisies was handy.

Everyone heading back to the cars.
(Again, this is a big picture)
A couple miles away is a farmhouse purchased and turned into a park. I don't know
how they turned it into a park, it looks like they just moved the people out and
left the farm alone to grow whatever. Anyway, this farmhouse has a picnic table
for our picnic lunch.
Afterwards we head out to the beach of Lake Michigan again.

This is the access path to the beach, someone's old farmhouse. On the far
right you can see Lake Michigan through the trees.

The rose bush outside the front door of the farmhouse.
There are lot's of trails down to the beach. Behind the garage is one with steps. Behind the house is one that involves a belly crawl under a tree. All I have to say is that we didn't get a chance to take a picture of the path down. :)
Entrance Empire Division Keebler Elves.
Folk in Empire, MI keep themselves busy.
Jenny and I hit the road for home.

Jenny and I< spent a long
time in very close proximity and we had our ways of coping.

We Stopped at Niagra falls.

Not that we were able to find parking and get out. But we did come to a
complete stop.

Tom's diner just north of Buffalo. It's the home of the slouvaki.

It's also the home of the coolest smoking section ever.
And then we got home and went to sleep exhausted.
