Last night I learned that the reason smoke detectors are not muteable is because it’s far better the have everyone awake and annoyed before the fire starts.
Also, I was reminded of the little wisdom, “Pay attention to the important thing, not the annoying thing.” In this case, smoking bacon grease trumps the deafening screech of the smoke detector.
